
Jim Williams makes a donation to the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation's Food for Learning programs, during the kick off of this year's Feed the Meter campaign at the Greek Banquet Hall Wednesday morning.
Parking throughout the Quinte's downtown areas during the month of December is free of charge. But feeding the meters with pocket change could change the lives of others.
People visiting downtown Belleville, Trenton, and Picton will be invited to feed parking metres to provide donations to local Food for Learning programs.
Last year, the first Feed the Meter campaign allowed deSnoo and the HPELF to provide 577,572 meals and snacks to 10,498 students in Belleville and Trenton, as well as offering 155 breakfasts and lunches.
